Romance is not new to those of us who live here, but we have found a special excitement within the diversity of the state. A place we proudly call “home”. Many well known figures have called Virginia home, 8 Presidents, among them Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, John Tyler, Robert E. Lee, Woodrow Wilson.
 Pocahontas and John Rolfe were the first well-known “lovers” in the New World, and lived at our first permanent English speaking settlement at Jamestowne Island, the location where 3 great cultures merged their traditions into free enterprise, and our democracy, cultures, and diversity took root. Since then, democracy has spread to over 400 countries throughout the world.
Two wars were fought on American soil ended here, the American Revolution in 1781, and the Civil War in 1865 at Appomattox Court House. In fact more Civil War battles were fought here in Virginia than any other state.
Our heritage is well preserved throughout the state, along with many scenic views, historic homes, plantations, gardens, wineries, museums, and the original Mercury Astronauts trained here, as well as Virginia is home to the Atlantic Fleet.
